Totter isn’t feeling well today. He didn’t want to go for a walk this morning and normally he loves his walks. I blamed the harsh, cold wind. When I fed him, I discovered a swelling on his upperlip. At first I feared he might have an abces, due to his bad teeth and gums, but luckily it was confined to his upperlip. It was a hard, half an inch thick lump. It could contain pus (and still be an abces) or it could contain something else. Time will tell. I immediately put some antibiotic ointment on his lip to hopefully contain the swelling. Totter allowed this, eventhough it clearly hurt him.

He’s eating and drinking and grooms himself, so I’m not overly worried. He does sleep at lot more than usual and doesn’t want to leave his bed. If he feels worse during the course of the day, I’ll take him to the vets’, but if he stays the same, it can wait until tomorrow, when Totter will accompany with me to the clinic for his weekly weigh-in.
